Introduction
On 1 August, 2011, the Department of Health and Human Services issued Interim Final Rules requiring mandatory coverage of preventive health care
services in employer health insurance plans. The
"preventive services" included contraception and sterilization. Public comment was invited during a sixty day period ending 30 September, 2011.
