Commentary re: Interim Final Rules

Introduction

On 1 August, 2011, the Department of Health and Human Services issued Interim Final Rules requiring mandatory coverage of preventive health care services in employer health insurance plans.  The "preventive services" included contraception and sterilization.  Public comment was invited during a sixty day period ending 30 September, 2011. 

Materials listed below were among comments criticizing the rules as a violation of freedom of conscience/religion during and after the sixty day comment period. The listed materials include

  • submissions to the Department of Health and Human Services in response to the Interim Final Rules
