A BILL
To amend section 4731.91 of the Revised Code concerning distribution of
medication that will or may result in abortion or termination of life and
performance of medical procedures that will or may result in termination of
life.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 4731.91 of the Revised Code be amended to read
as follows:
Sec. 4731.91. (A) No private hospital, private hospital director, or
governing board of a private hospital is required to permit an abortion.
(B) No public hospital, public hospital director, or governing
board of a public hospital is required to permit an abortion.
(C) Refusal to permit an abortion is not grounds for civil
liability nor a basis for disciplinary or other recriminatory
action.
(D) No person is required to perform or participate in medical
procedures or distribution of any medication which will or may
result in abortion or termination of life, and refusal to perform or
participate in the medical procedures or distribution of medication
is not grounds for civil liability nor a basis for disciplinary or
other recriminatory action.
(E) Whoever violates division (D) of this section is liable in
civil damages.
Section 2. That existing section 4731.91 of the Revised Code is
hereby repealed.
