  • The Protection of Conscience Project has made formal submissions about freedom of conscience in health care to state and professional authorities, including:
    • The General Medical Council (United Kingdom)
    • Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
    • Canadian physician and pharmacy regulators
    • Department of Health and Human Services (USA)
    • All-Party Oireachtais Committee on the Constitution (Ireland)
  • Project Submissions Menu


  • The Project has no standing to intervene with state regulators or professional authorities, but it may be possible to prepare a report on the matter. Reports are given to the persons concerned, to  be used as they and legal counsel think best.  Reports have been prepared concerning:

    • Conduct of a professional ethics committee
    • Physicians
    • A medical student

  • The Project Administrator has occasionally made presentations in response to requests from groups interested in the subject of freedom of conscience in health care.  Groups have included:
